Kenya

After our missions in Tanzania, I flew back to Nairobi for a few days before I return home.  No trip is complete without seeing Lucy and the kids.   It is so good to see Lucy, well and walking without pain.  It was the school holidays so only the orphans are   around.  Saturday is also cleaning day for the kids, Lots of washing and water!  I like the new paint!   The pretty  chapel    Some income generating project that the kids are involved in - rabbits farming, chickens and a vegetable farm. They are expecting rains soon!   The toddler being held in this picture is the newest addition. She was left in the cold for at least 24 hours. The police brought her to the home. The other kids enjoy taking care of their new "sister". A group picture is a must, of course! The kids love having their pictures taken.    It was such a blessing to see Sach ...

KENYA!!!! (PART 1)

We left for Kenya end of January for a month long missions trip. We were beyond excited as this is our first trip back as a couple since we life in June 2009. We were looking forward to meeting with missionaries, friends, and church members and the ministries that we will be part of during our time in Kenya. These are some of the pictures and special moments we had that I thought might interest my friends who read this blog :) Tony preached both services at Nairobi Christian Centre, the church of the General Superintendent of Kenya. Kathryn was dedicated as a baby in this church! We also met several bible school students who had studied with us in the layman bible school we started way back in 1993. It was such a special moment when they came up to greet us after all these years. We had a great visit with Lucy and David, the directors of the orphanage. Lucy had a hip replacement several years ago and we were so glad that she is finally pain free and happy and smili...

Safari - at last!

The girls do get to go to different mini safaris as part of their school activities and as a family, we have always preferred a beach holiday...yup, we are all beach people! Besides, the prices are always so high! Since we are leaving, we decided that we must at least be on safari once as a family. A great friend, Marigold, got us an out of this world kind of deal and we were able to go on a weeklong safari and enjoyed every minute of it! Here's some pictures... The incredible scenery and landscapes of the great Masai Mara. This huge baboon was climbing up the water tower! pretty bored looking lioness, we were only a few feet away albeit safe and sound in our van! beautiful rainbow after a heavy downpour Our guide, Tita, drove us about 45 minutes up to a mountain to see these buffalos, I f...
