Post Trip Testimonies and BIG NEWS

Tony was in Medan and I found myself at Tabernacle of David as the team was giving their testimonies on the Cambodian trip and had a slide presentation; After the service, many were interested in future trips!  Exciting times ahead! During one of tuk tuk ride in the evening, Christine Yap whipped out her fancy smancy super bright flashlight to help us climb onto the tuk tuk. She told me that it was a gift from Pastor David.  During lunch, I mentioned to Pas David about the flashlight and he ended up giving me 4!! These are expensive flashlights but super duper bright.   When I got home, I had fun playing with them and almost blinding my family! I LOVE gadgets :) My sister, Ann, told me to get this for my tennis elbow...I did but it didn't help :( I received this cute Baby Shower invite from our good friend in Tennessee.  I feel so blessed to have friends in many parts of the world and how we can celebrate with each other even though we mi...
ONE YEAR LATER!!! Yes, it's one year later since our return to Malaysia and Max made it and is still with us :-) I cannot believe that it was a year ago since I posted my last entry, and I am finding it even more amazing that we have actually been "home" for a little over a year! I can say that life in Malaysia has been full of suprises and is fast and furious. I was inspired to blog again when I was going through our digital photos and doing some digital decluttering. I was amazed by how much has happened in just a year. So, over the next few days, I am hoping to get you all caught up withn all that has happened the last 12 months and I will try to post as many pictures as I can.....I am not very patient waiting for pictures to upload :-) Max - survived the 24 hour journey and seems to have adapted pretty good to Malaysian life. We are so glad we brought him with us! Reunited with their youngest cousins ... Annabelle and Isaac. I think they will featured q...

MALAYSIA!

It's been over a month since we landed "home" in Malaysia - 1st June! Lots has happened since then, firstly, we set up house from scratch....it was amazing to us the choices we have here in Malaysia and the prices here were at least 2/3 cheaper than what we were used to in Nairobi. Eating out is so affordable and so tasty as well! Goodbye to my cooking days - YAY!!! Secondly, we bought a car, Tony has one provided for him but we needed a second car for me to get the girls to school and back and of course to shop!! Talking about shopping, I never thought I could be tired of shopping but I have to admit, that after the first two weeks of outfitting the house, I was shopped out!! I have since learn to drive to a few places. Tony officially began work 1 July but he was in the thick of church ministry the same week we arrived. I too was asked to teach 4 Fridays for the July Bible month, a ladies meeting and and one Sunday service in July and to co-speak with Tony for the ch...

2nd Post in an hour!

You are probably tired of pictures of our puppy but I couldn't help posting this adorable picture of my two babies. WOW! The internet and electricity stayed on!!! And this is my second post this evening. It's 11.12 pm right now. Kathryn's soccer team won their final game for the season against Hill Crest with a 6-0 score. Yeah! She didn't score but had a couple of great assist. Tony (and me too!) are so proud! Kathryn and her best friend, Eirin.

Revival meetings

The week of Good Friday, Tony preached a series of revival meetings at the NPC (Nairobi Pentecostal Church) in Woodley, across town. It took us more than an hour to drive there and back each evening. Despite heavy rains that started the day of the meetings, hundreds turned out for the meeting. Tony preached from 2 Samuel 6 for all four services. The series of meeting ended on Good Friday about being passionate for God. Many humbled themselves and sought God at the altar after each service and we took time to pray for them. One of the most precious thing that happened is these two little boys responding to the altar call and praying - how precious! Kneeling in the presence of God, seeking His face! These pictures were taken by our daughter Kathryn. While we were all away at these services, our very vicious and ferocious guard dog, Max is keeping guard at home. Here is Max in action.... Isn't he cute!

Our Hero!

We managed to call the bank at 8.45 this morning and found out that they are open and that there are no queues.....so despite the news that a rally is taking place at 10 am and the fact that the running battle between the crowds and the police yesterday was about 10 minutes from where we live, Tony (aka Jack Bauer - yes, we are big fans of 24...we are watching season 3 right now), OUR HERO, braved the streets and ventured out!! Yey!!! He was suprised to find the streets calm and managed to get some cash, and bought groceries from a minimarket. Here is our man with the loot!! This is why we love our daddy!! And this is THE REASON, this man can do no wrong, in my eyes anyways.....(for a couple of days???) While Tony risk "life and limb" (not really :-) to get us sustenance, the other man in our house, our very fierce and vicious guard dog, Max, was on duty keeping us girls safe and sound. Below is Max on duty... I know, after my serious posts the previous days, I must seem f...

Kids Christmas Party

This Wednesday, also a public holiday here, we organised a Christmas party for the kids on campus. My good friend, Trina and her dad who is visiting from America, helped me planned and organised the party which included lots of good (sugary and snacky), several games, a Christmas devotion, a Christmas craft and even a pinata (donated by another missionary on campus).... The pictures are not in a particular order...I am not quite sure how to move them around yet... Here the kids are enjoying their food. Kathryn and Vickie helping to serve the food .. A goody bag from Santa!! and an American one at that ! The girls had only met African Santa Clauses....now that I am thinkng of it, the girls have only had Christmases in Africa....they have not even seen an Oriental one yet...maybe we will make it home one Christmas to Malaysia!! If you look hard enough, you will see the boy trying to hit the pinata.... Helping the little ones with coloring pages.. Making a Christmas ornament with pipe ...
