Today we went to the orphanage.
Praise the Lord for this new building. A supporter of the orphanage has raised some funds to build new dormitories for our orphans, especially the older ones. It would be more like a family home.
Our beautiful and wonderful children. I tried posting a video of them singing but it is not being loaded succesfully...

Our lab "strong room" made of thin pieces of plywood! We had to keep our chemical supplies for our chemistry and biology classes under lock and key not only to prevent thefts but also we recently had an incident where one of the orphans tried to commit suicide - he would have been successful if he had access to those chemicals....The good news is that this young man received help and is now stable....nonetheless, we are keeping everything under lock and key!
Our brand new chicken coop! This is our newer and more spacious chicken coup that Eva, a friend of ours has helped sponsored. We are trusting the Lord that this project will generate significant income for us. We are right now in a pretty tight spot, even for us personally...food prices has increased over 40%. Our orphanage is really challenged. Please pray with us that this project will be successful.
Our science lab.
Our chickens (soon to be broilers - YUM!) These chicks are only 2 days old!
These are our anointed layers! We are harvesting over 100 eggs perday. I help sell the eggs and chickens to our friends.
Tony and his chick!
This is Lucy, the director of the orphanage, with the brand new freezer we bought recently. It will be used to freeze our broilers when they are "ripe" - about 6 weeks old and about 1.5 kg.
These are sisal plants/leaves/root that we use for firewood. They are free and all around Ruai, where our orphanage is and they burn for very long. We also use firewood, kerosene and charcoal but they are a lot more expensive. One of the kids chore is to gather these sisal plants for fuel.
GOOD NEWS!!! My most wonderful neighbour helped me pry the broken piece from Mr Gateway - it took a lot of patience!!! she worked at it with a needle for over 30 mins - I would have given up after the first 30 seconds! I managed to get the pin crudely replaced and we can still use the Gateway - yay!! God is good!
Thanks Ray for your helpful comments. I will let Tony know you wrote.
