Happy Belated Mother's Day to all the moms out there! Tony started the celebration with me last Wednesday by taking me out to a nice bistro kind of restaurant for breakfast. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day; especially when I don't have to fix it and when I have lots of choices! I love lingering over a cup of coffee and reading the newspaper and just having a slow start to the morning...a perfect way to begin the day, if you ask me! Then he got me this bouquet of gorgeous flowers, and then a meal out...he has to keep this up till my birthday on the 19th!! It's like a Jewish festival..and I LOVE IT!
I didn't take pictures but the girls got me cards and jewellery...and Kathryn told me that I am worth approximately $200,000 annually for my "mom" job! That felt good!
This was a Sunday service at a local church and it was a special service for us as we are telling the congregation that we are leaving for our new assignment in Malaysia.... :-((
After the "big" annoucement of our leaving, we were given a chance to say good-bye to the church....we love this church!

We are so grateful to the Lord for His hand upon our orphanage. Recently we dedicated two new girls dormitories made possible through a generous donation from a Canadian church. God is good!

We took a quick picture before the actual openning ceremoy. We didn't stay for the entire ceremony as it was long and we had to be back on campus. The lady in green is Eva who helped raised money for our poultry project - our income generating project. The gentleman on her right is David, Lucy's husband. He supervised the building of the new dormitories.

Lucy has been reaching out to some Masai in her area and they too came to the ceremony. They came in their colorful clothes and did a fantastic dance including bringing the members of the congregation to dance with them. Yours truly was also dragged out, thank goodness no one took pictures of that....! at least I didn't think so and I had the camera..phew...!
Part of the dance includes jumping as high as they can. The Masai men are hunters and they can jump very high as they do that to look for animals.

We were so honored that Lucy wanted Tony to give word of devotion to the people and to pray for the school and the leaders of the school. It is amazing to us how God grew this ministry to what it is today. He is so faithful and so amazing. It is true - He can do EXCEEDINGLY, ABUNDANTLY, ABOVE ALL WE CAN ASK OR THINK OF!

Last Friday we also went for Vickie's final band performance. One of the many songs they played were a medley from Phantom of the Opera. They did such a phenomenal job! We are really bless that Vickie has a great music teacher, Mr Muniz. He has a real gift to draw it out of the kids. We are praying that Vickie will find a band she can play with when we return to Malaysia.
We have less than three weeks to go and so many farewelling gatherings, fellowships, meals and packing and finalising many many details of many many projects! Please pray for God's grace and wisdom in the coming weeks. We are also hosting four ladies from Malaysia who will be arriving this Sunday!
