HIGH SCHOOL CFS - Kathryn

Kathyrn, our oldest went for her CFS trip (Cultural Field Service). Their whole high school were divided into groups of 15 students each and went to different places to do community projects. Kathryn's group went to a village about three hours away from Nairobi. Their project was to help clean a church and various projects for the community. She is my "guest blogger". My apologies for my long absence...it's been challenging lately on many fronts...will try to do better at blogging soon! Anyways, enjoy Kathryn's comments on her trip!
This is me and my friend Chris surrounded by all the kids who live in the town.

This is this star we made during the little free time we had.

This was the local market place. It sold everything from chillies to goats!!

This is the gorgeous view from this valley! We hiked up and it was just soo pretty!!

This is me and this little girl who is such a sweetheart! This is us in front of the church we cleaned.

There were soo many kids! This is me and Sapna on our little walk throughout the town so to speak.

This is the goat's killer. My friend Mark. When he cut the goat's throat the blood came flying everywhere.. The next picture is pretty gruesome so be warned!

In Kenya, goat is a very popular meat... so in honor of our stay we killed one!

This was our room. It was really small and we fit 5 people in here. We have no running water or electricity the whole time....it was fun!
These are 3 of my friends out on this huge cliff like thing.

This is me on the middle of this huge mountain Cliff!

We had one stop and that was to see this pretty huge Jesus and Mary sculpture.
This is me and my friend Sapna. We had so much fun on during this trip.

Hey - that's great! I saw that statue so I know exactly where you were. I went out there with Lucy to get supplies for Pehucci one day. It's a long and beautiful drive.
