I am going to try to make up for my lack of posting with this one! We have been joyously busy since the last time I posted. Like most of you, our lives are busy and full. Here are some of the activities that we have been busy with...
Harris and Francis Gichui were our students in Harvesters' Institue of Ministries in 1993. They have been in very active ministry as church elders, ministry leaders and most recently, the Lord laid it on their hearts to plant a church. If I am not wrong, I think they are grandparents to 14 and yet bold and courageous enough to pioneer a new church! Tony went to the opening ceremony. If you click on the first picture, you can see how beautiful the cakes were! What a joy it was to us to celebrate with them and to encourage them. Two weeks ago, Tony had Harris come to minister in our chapel service here at the University to encourage our young people in their ministries.
The International Christian Ministry classes started in Beni, Congo with Bethuel with 16 students. They have just started their 12 month course. These young people will be able to go into the rain forests and villages in Congo, equipped for the ministry. Pray for them and Bethuel as he leads them. Bethuel also has the additional challenge to translate the English manuals into French in order to teach them.
Tony preaching in one of the three Chinese churches in Nairobi. Vickie commented that she has never seen so many Chinese people together in one service!! Most of the congregation are from Mainland China. It was a treat for me to hear Tony's message translated to Mandarin.
After the service, we went to a roof top Chinese restaurant for our "Reunion Dinner". We have not celebrated Chinese New Year since 1992 and this is a first for Vickie!!!!!!!! Kathryn was with her high school at CFS.
YUM!!!! It amazes how the cook can make these absolutely authentic Chinese dishes here in Nairobi...:-)) We ate and we ate and we ate and we ate.....

Kathryn at church. She injured her knee last Wednesday during a football/soccer game. She tore a ligament, bruised and chipped a bone. The doctor aspirated 11 syringes of blood (60cc) from her knee She will be in a cast for 5 weeks. Our kids are so trained to flash a smile whenever the camera clicks, even with a broken knee!
Tony signed her cast by listing famous footballers who got injured this season.. including Kathryn, of course!
We also had 3 pastors with Malaysia visiting with us last week. They had come for a special conference. Two of them shared in the River of God church. They also brought us food from Malaysia. It was so much fun having them in our house for a meal- I served them sandwiches, of course! They really like our coldmeat here - yay!
